Another Sportsbook App Joins Crowded New Jersey Market

Another mobile sports betting application has launched in New Jersey. Wynn Sports became the 18th sports betting app in New Jersey when they launched earlier this week.

It was a quiet move, and one that came with little fanfare, but another mobile sports betting application has launched in New Jersey. Wynn Sports became the 18th sports betting app in New Jersey when they launched earlier this week.

Wynn Sports is a product of Wynn Resorts, and they have started to venture into the sports betting industry in recent years. The app officially launched on Tuesday and is now available to download for all residents in the state.

The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) required Wynn Sports to feature a five-day soft launch period before rolling out the entire app. Wynn Resorts does not operate any land-based casinos in the state of New Jersey but was able to acquire a license through their partnership with Caesars.

Wynn is a Las Vegas-based company, but it has started to expand and grow in recent years. They are not viewed as a significant player in the sports betting industry, and they are using an international provider to provide them with betting lines.

BetBull out of Germany will set the betting odds and lines for Wynn Sports, and that could provide some different and unique odds in the state. The odds will also be modified on the Wynn Sports app than what they are at the casino in Nevada.

Initial reviews of the sports betting app have noted that the betting lines, in general, are incredibly competitive, but some Major League Baseball lines raised eyebrows. These odds will likely be reviewed by BetBull as well to keep up with the extremely competitive New Jersey market.

Sportsbooks in New Jersey won almost $13 million during June, which was in the middle of a pandemic. New Jersey has emerged as one of the industry leaders, even posting more significant numbers than Nevada in recent months.

Wynn Set to Make Big Move
Even though Wynn is recognized as a player in the online gaming industry, they are rarely mentioned in sports betting. Other rival companies in Las Vegas have made a much quicker transition into sports betting, but it appears that Wynn is preparing for a big move.

The launch in New Jersey is a start, but Wynn Sports could launch in a pair of other states before long. Wynn has formed a partnership with Full House Resorts, Inc., and that gives them the ability to start their sports betting platform in Indiana and Colorado as well.

Indiana launched sports betting in September 2019, and the market there continues to grow. Colorado launched sports betting on May 1, and they are expected to grow much like the state of New Jersey did.

Wynn Resorts also owns Encore Boston Harbor in Massachusetts, and they have supported the sports betting debate in that state as well. If Massachusetts were to legalize sports betting, Wynn would be able to launch sports betting inside their own property.

Some Things to Be Fixed
Wynn also unveiled their online casino platform in New Jersey, and that could help attract several customers to their sports betting app. Wynn Casino is joining a very competitive iGaming market, but it is more ready to be taken seriously in that niche.

Wynn Casino does not currently offer table games, and that will have to be changed before they can draw in a steady stream of new customers. The Wynn Sports app also has some minor issues that will need to be corrected before stealing customers from the other operators in the state.
