BetAmerica, the sports betting brand of casino and racetrack operator Churchill Downs Incorporated, has recently launched retail sportsbooks in two more states as part of its US expansion effort.

The wagering operator last week debuted a betting facility at Bronco Billy’s Casino in Cripple Creek, Colorado and another one at Island Resort & Casino in Harris, Michigan.

Colorado and Michigan were two of the latest states to legalize sports betting and join the US athletic gambling frenzy.

The BetAmerica Sportsbook at Bronco Billy’s Casino features 10 self-service betting terminals and two betting windows that offer wagering on a number of sports events, including professional and college US sports as well as all of the major international sports.

In addition, BetAmerica plans to launch a digital sports betting and gaming platform that will be available throughout Colorado in the future. That next major step in the operator’s expansion in the Centennial State is subject to regulatory approval from competent authorities.

BetAmerica was able to enter Colorado through its earlier partnership with Las Vegas casino operator Full House Resorts.

Commenting on their Colorado debut, Churchill Downs COO Bill Mudd said that the state is “home to some of the most enthusiastic sports fans” and that they are pleased to have brought the BetAmerica Sportsbook’s state-of-the art experience there.

Bronco Billy’s Casino General Manager Baxter Lee added that their customers are excited to see their sportsbook open doors and that wagering enthusiasts from all over the state “are sure to enjoy these industry-leading kiosk offering.

Michigan Debut

Churchill Downs announced Monday that it has also delivered its BetAmerica Sportsbook experience to Michigan. The company launched last week a retail betting facility at Island Resort & Casino in Harris.

Churchill Downs and BetAmerica previously partnered the Hannahville Indian Community to operate a sportsbook at the tribe’s gambling venue.

The BetAmerica Sportsbook at Island Resort & Casino features 14 self-service betting terminals and two betting windows. These all offer betting on a wider range of sports, including NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB among others. The betting facility also features 25 large-screen televisions and the largest HD video wall in the Upper Peninsula.

BetAmerica has also revealed plans to launch an online sports book and gaming platform in Michigan in the coming months, subject to regulatory approval.

Mr. Mudd said of their expansion in Michigan that they are excited to be “guests of the Island Resort & Casino” and that sports fans in the state will be treated to the “best in sports betting, including live in-play betting as well as engaging and unique promotions.”

Kenneth Mesigaud, Tribal Chairperson of the Hannahville Indian Community, said that “the BetAmerica Sportsbook is a fantastic addition to our gaming options” and that combined with the Island Resort & Casino’s other entertainment options – including the resort’s 18-hole golf courses – “it provides another good reason for people to visit.”

Including Michigan and Colorado, the BetAmerica Sportsbook brand is now available in six states, with New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Mississippi being the other four.
