How many times will Justin Fields throw the ball? That's just one of many props that are being offered on the national championship game between Ohio State and Alabama.

Don't you love props? If you do, you know that when the big events come around, there are a lot of proposition bets to partake in.

And BetAnySports has a whole bunch of them relating to the BCS Championship Game, which takes place between the Ohio State Buckeyes and Alabama Crimson Tide.

Let's look at a couple of them, and keep in mind that kickoff is at 8 PM ET on ESPN. And you can get better odds with reduced juice, as well as real-time wagering with Sports Betting Prime.

Justin Fields - Pass Attempts

Over 22.5 attempts -110
Under 22.5 attempts -110

Ohio State has thrown the ball on a little less than 40% of its plays from scrimmage. An d we'd be looking at something like 28-32 attempts for this game. Fields would probably have to get very close to, or exceed, the completion percentage he has had for the entire season - against an opponent that is superior to anyone else they've played, in order for your to cash the "over" on this ticket.

What we've been very mindful of is that Fields has to be still dealing with those sore ribs. And I could conceivably see head coach Ryan Day ordering a plan to take pressure off him in some ways. And that is why it is OSU's good fortune that is has a hot back in Trey Sermon.

If you'd bet this on the "over" you would be operating on the assumption that he won't be sidelined in this game. And that's okay. But if the guy is not 100%, he'd be somewhat vulnerable if he took a bad hit. There is more of a chance for that to happen if (a) he ran with the ball himself, or (b) he dropped back more than usual to pass.

Either way, we'll be on the "under."

Now here is a parlay we're interested in:

ALABAMA -2½ & game over 68½ -101
OHIO ST +2½ or game under 68½ -119

Yes, we ARE laying the points with Alabama, and yes we DO like this game to go over the total. At -101, we're in.

Here's a Mac Jones proposition:

Mac Jones to have a 47+ yard pass completion -140
Mac Jones NO 47+ yard pass completion +120

Yeah, this may sound like a bit of a stretch. But Jones, who gets a lot of time to throw, is the absolute best long-ball quarterback in the country. He is the only one who played Division I ball this season who threw fewer than 20% "uncatchable" balls on those passes that went ten yards or more beyond the line of scrimmage.

He has spectacular playmakers. Most prominent among them is the Heisman Trophy winner, Devonta Smith. But there are others, and that includes Jaylen Waddle, who, last we heard, was likely to play.

Let's also not forget that Najee Harris is very adept at catching passes out of the backfield. Note that Jones doesn't have to heave it all the way down the field to have a 47-yard pass play. Harris could catch a screen pass and go a long way with it.

And it should be mentioned that Ohio State was not much better than ordinary in the defensive backfield. They were just 50th in the country defending explosive pass plays (i.e., those going 20 or more yards). So they are susceptible to a home run .

A "YES" here.
