Both these squads are playing lousy baseball, Pittsburgh's on a seven-game losing streak and Miami at 1-7. Part of the problem is two deplorable bullpens, each with an ERA over 5.00 and listed 14th and 13th respectively in the National League. Though Steven Brault (2-1, 5.05 ERA) and Trevor Richards (3-6, 3.31) are capable of pitching well unless they can go eight innings, the score should climb. This has shoved the total from 8 to 8.5 and I concur, noticing the Pirates are 15-5 OVER after a game where the bullpen gave up no earned runs this season.

MLB  – (921) KANSAS CITY at (922) MINNESOTA  8:10 ET  FSKC, FSNO

Minnesota is the top-scoring team in the majors at 6.0 RPG and they will be facing a Kansas City club that is 25th in runs allowed at 5.2 RPG. This is the genesis for moving the total from 9.5 to 10. Starters Brad Keller (3-8, 4.29) and Kyle Gibson (6-3, 4.14) each have thrown better of late, with ERA's under four in their past three starts. Ten is a bigger number, but I'll still side with it as the Royals are 12-1 OVER revenging a one-run loss and Gibson 14-4 OVER at home when working on five or six days rest since 2017.
