Those betting baseball are less inclined to think that will happen tonight and have shifted the Cubs from -150 to -165, thinking Cole Hamels (4-0, 3.13 ERA) will be fired up to face his original team. The Phillies will counter with a left-hander of their own, who has the same first name, Cole, Irvin (2-0, 2.77), who is making his third career start. Tough call with Philly 17-4 after a one-run loss and the Cubs 13-1 at home after a game where their bullpen blew a save. I'll side the veteran pitcher at home.

It is Game 3 of a four-game set between these AL East rivals and we have seen two blowouts. While baseball bettors might not be calling for another shellacking, they have moved the Boston up 20 cents to -155 over the Blue Jays. Starters Rick Porcello (3-4, 4.80) and Aaron Sanchez (3-4, 3.88) are hardly feel-good operators and are susceptible to blowup outings. This is an unsettling selection, but the Red Sox are 15-5 north of the border and the Jays are 1-13 off an upset win over a division rival as a home underdog.
