Hot Betting Events for the Weekend of May 29-30

Huge betting opportunities are on tap for this weekend. Check out this weeks betting tips for NBA Playoffs, MLB, and NHL Playoffs and the Indianapolis 500

It's a weekend that sports lovers look forward to each year - Memorial Day weekend. There will be hot dogs, baseball, and apple pie; but there will also be a bunch of NBA Game 4s, a full slate of MLB games, and the annual running of the Indianapolis 500.

Here are the hot betting events for the weekend of May 29-30, 2021.

Betting the NBA

On Saturday and Sunday, the NBA playoff schedule is chock full of Game 4s. Interestingly, there is a trend that smarter bettors should be looking for heading into the weekend.

Since the 2002-03 season in first-round playoff series Games 2 through 5, a team that lost the previous game and then goes into the next game as a favorite of four or more points is 86-57-2 ATS. Those teams cover over 60 percent of the time.

Pay attention to Game 3s this week and then look ahead to Game 4. You may find a situation like this where you can capitalize.

Giants @ Dodgers Again

It's Giants-Dodgers II as the two NL West powers meet for the second time this season. The Giants lost all three games in the previous series.

The Dodgers are in the midst of an eight-game winning streak (prior to Wednesday’s games). They have averaged over six runs per game and their pitching has been outstanding, giving up more than two runs just twice in those eight games.

With L.A. at home, it would be wise to check series prices. There is also an interesting matchup on Saturday. The Dodgers will pit Julio Urias (7-1) against Anthony DeSclafini (4-2). The two met in the last series when DeSclafani got shelled for 10 earned runs in 2.2 innings. The Dodgers won 11-5.
L.A. will likely be favored heavily on Saturday, but check out the odds on the Dodgers’ run line and the game total.

Indy 500

It’s that time of year again. The Indianapolis 500 will be run on Sunday and the overwhelming favorite is Scott Dixon (+350). Dixon was last year's runner-up and led for 111 of the 200 laps.

Dixon will start in the pole position and has two top-3 finishes in his last three Indy 500 starts. He’ll be challenged by Pato O’Ward (+1000) who was the top rookie in last year’s race. O’Ward starts 12th.

How about a sleeper? Who better than last year's Indy 500 champ Takuma Sato. He has proved he can win it yet checks in at +2000.

An even bigger longshot is veteran Helio Castroneves who is listed at +3000. Castroneves is a three-time Indy winner who is about a second from being a five-time winner. He starts in the eighth position.

If Necessary:

The NHL has no games scheduled for Sunday, May 30, and the only games that could take place on Saturday are big 'ifs'. If Nashville forces a Game 7 on Thursday, the Predators will meet the Hurricanes in Carolina on Saturday in NHL Playoff action.

Should that happen, check out the total. Game 7s tend to turn into defensive, low-scoring battles.

The only other game that could take place would be Toronto at Montreal in a Game 6. It’s not likely, but the Canadiens winning Game 1 wasn't likely either. If there is a Game 6, you can bet Toronto will want to end the series as quickly as possible.
