The Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Angels are going in different directions s they clash on Saturday night.

The Los Angeles Angels continue to be unable to get out of their own way. They tend to win when Shohei Ohtani on the mound, but they usually come up empty otherwise.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are a stark contrast to that. They are now in rhythm and are humming, with an almost insurmountable led in the National League West as we come to the All-Star break.

On Saturday night BetOnline patrons will see these teams play again in the "Freeway Series," scheduled for 10:05 PM ET at Angel Stadium in Anaheim.

These teams are clearly going in different directions.

The Angels have dropped eleven of their last thirteen games.

Meanwhile the Dodgers have won 14 out of 16.

It's that simple.

Southpaws will start the game on the mound. Julio Urias (7-6, 3.01) gets the call from the Dodgers, while Jose Suarez (1-3, 4.79 ERA) takes the hill for the Angels.

Friday night's game did not work at all for the Angels. In the 9-1 win, Justin Turner had four RBIs for the Dodgers, while Clayton Kershaw stopped the Halos cold, holding them to one hit over eight innings.

Let's take look at the odds on this game, with the Dodgers the favorites as they play in nearby Orange County:

Los Angeles Dodgers -195
Los Angeles Angels +179

Over 8.5 Runs -117
Under 8.5 Runs -103

And on the run line at BetOnline....

Dodgers -1.5 Runs (-128)
Angels +1.5 Runs +108

Urias, who had been considered a surefire Dodger pitching prospect right from the start, finally broke out last season, becoming the majors' only 20-game winner. This year his winning percentage isn't close (7-6, as compared to 20-3 last season), but his ERA and WHIP are comparable. Where we see jump is in his FIP (Fielding Independent Pitching), which represents activity that has very little to do with the teammates in the field.

He is looking to bounce back from a rough outing, in which he lasted only two innings against the Cubs, allowing five runs. If you look at these last six starts of his, he's got a 40-7 K-BB ratio.

He'll have to deal with Mike Trout, who sat out Fridy's game with back spasms. He's only faced Trout four times, during which time he gave up just one hit to the three-time MVP.

Suarez has made eight starts this season, and in only one of those has he gone as many as five innings.

That brings the Angels' bullpen into the picture. And it's mediocre at best, with a 4.12 ERA and 46 homers allowed.

The Dodgers' win on Friday was the 52nd out of 59 that came by two runs or more. So it's not out of line at all to look closely at the run line. We'll lay -120 with the Dodger blue on that basis.
