The Washington Football Team goes after its third straight victory against the Seattle Seahawks, who have lost fiveof their last six games.

If Russell Wilson continues to play the way he has been over these last two games, the Seattle Seahawks are going to have no chance to climb back into the playoff race. But if the multiple Pro Bowler does indeed return to form, they can still make a go of it.

That's got to be the thinking on the part of BetOnline customers as they evaluate Monday night's game against the Washington Football Team, which starts at 8:15 p.m. ET at FedEx Field.

And they should also think about Odds Boosters, which offer greatly-enhanced payouts on pre-selected parlays everyday of the week.

Wilson has thrown for only 5.6 yards per attempt over these last two starts, which have come against Green Bay and Arizona. The Seahawks have put up 13 points over those two games, and over their last four contests, they have not reached the 300-yard mark on offense. So there's a problem here.

Does Washington provide any elixir for that? The WFT has played horrible defense this season, in almost a complete reversal of last year's stop unit that helped propel a squad with a very troubled offense to the division title. Currently Washington is 31st in the league in points allowed on a per- drive basis. And although it's almost inconceivable, they have allowed their opponents to convert 53% of their third-down opportunities.

Unquestionably, if Wilson is sharp, he would have a chance to take this defense apart.

But the questions linger about the finger injury and whether he's going to be affected by it for the rest of the season.

In the Monday Night Football betting odds posted on this game by the people over at BetOnline, the Seahawks are the road favorites:

Seattle Seahawks -2.5
Washington Football Team +2.5

Over 46.5 points -110
Under 46.5 points -110

We know that Washington is happy that Logan Thomas, the big tight end who caught 72 passes last year, is going to be active tonight, because he will give Taylor Heinicke a short-range target to throw at. The WFT does not have the downfield threats that Seattle does, but they might be able to run the ball better behind Antonio Gibson and an offensive line that, according to the analytics site Football Outsiders, have the best "power rank" in the NFL. Ron Rivera has been shifting slightly more toward the ground game, as Washington has run the ball 48% of the time over its last three contests.

Seattle has not shown enough to indicate that it can pressure Heinicke into mistakes, as they have just 12 sacks. And the veteran career backup has made the most of his starting chance, with 2290 yards and a couple of great games back-to-back in which he completed 78% of his passes. One of those was a payback game against the champion Buccaneers, who beat them in Landover in last year's playoffs.

The Seahawks are the only team that has allowed more than 400 yards a game. And we have talked about Washington's defense. So why do we have this matchup pegged as an "under"?

Well, if you look beyond the basic stats, you'll see that Seattle may give up a lot of ground, but they force their opponents to do a lot of work for their points. In fact, in the measurement of "Yards Per Point" allowed, New England is #1, followed by Seattle, which gives up 19.2 yards for every point the opposition scores.

They also have the tenth best defense in terms of points allowed on a per-drive basis. They're tougher than usual in the red zone, allowing just 50% TD's (5th in the NFL), and they only allow 37% on third down. When a team is generous everywhere, it seems, except when a team gets in close, that usually accounts for a number of drives with scoring that is less than expected.

And by the way, while he might see flashes, we still don't think we are going to see the REAL Russell Wilson.

So while we can give Seattle a recommendation based on a better defense (although that sounds strange), we can also look "under" the total, where the 'Hawks have been in seven of their last eight games.
