The Boston Celtics will try to prevail at home against the Philadelphia 76ers and move on to the NBA East finals against the Miami Heat.

In four of the six games in the Eastern Conference semi-finals, the road team has prevailed. So would it be the biggest surprise in the world for BetOnline customers to see the Philadelphia 76ers come out on top over the Boston Celtics on Sunday? With the Milwaukee Bucks having been eliminated, the path might seem to be easier to a conference championship. But the Miami Heat is sitting and waiting for this winner to be determined.

Philadelphia is not intimidated, by and large, by going on the road,. They went 25-16 away from home this season, and have now won four out of five as the visitor in the postseason. They got things started right at the TD Garden with a win in Game 1, and they hope for a similar result as this game tops off at 3:30 PM ET.

Celtics Sixers picksIn Game 6, Jayson Tatum went "scorched earth." And when he does that, he's impossible to deal with. He had 16 points in the fourth quarter and literally saved the Celts, who had blown a 15-point advantage to allow Philly to take the lead.

So now what? That last game was a bit of a slog, and the only one in the series where both teams tallied less than 100 points.

In the Game 7 playoff betting odds that have been posted on this game by the good folks at BetOnline, the Celtics are favored:

Boston Celtics         -6.5
Philadelphia 76ers +6.5

Over 201.5 Points -114
Under 201.5 Points -106

Jaylen Brown has been hot throughout this series for the Celtics, shooting almost 56%, including a team-high 42% from three-point range.

76ers Celtics predictionBoth of these teams have been lights-out from the free throw line, Philadelphia (88.5%) even more than Boston (84.5%). For the Sixers, the vast majority of attempts have come from the trio of Joel Embiid, James Harden and Tyrese Maxey.

Harden has had the opportunity to get to the charity stripe 42 times (making 37), Throughout his career, that's what this guy has done best. Interestingly, Embiid is hitting an even better percentage (48 of 54, or 88.9%). Obviously this kind of thing is unusual for a big man, but not for Embiid in this series, as he is almost 86% for the whole season.

And maybe this is a very good reason that Embiid got the most MVP votes. Big men who can score in bunches are going to get fouled, and if they can't make their free throws, they become a "strategy" (as in Hack-a-Shaq). You can't do that with Embiid and hope to survive.

The Sixers obviously have a chance to win this game outright, so we are tempted with the money line of +215. But we like the "over" better, as these clubs haven't been leaving a whole lot of points on the table. Yes, we understand that there may be something more deliberate, and the officials may let these guys play more than usual, but still, in four of the six games we have seen played, both teams broke the 100-mark.
