The two offensive team - at least in terms of efficiency - will try to finish an undefeated season on Monday night as the Gonzaga Bulldogs and Baylor Bears clash for the national title.

A look at Gonzaga from a betting perspective

One of the most important numbers at work going into Monday night's NCAA Championship game involves the record of the Gonzaga Bulldogs, otherwise known as the 'Zags. It is 31-0 straight-up (17-12-2 against the spread), which means that if they win, they will be the first team since Indiana in 1976 to go through the entire season AND win the title undefeated.

When the ball goes up on Monday night, you could probably throw those numbers out the window. But what and how the teams reached those numbers represent factors that will be operative with regard to the way this game will play out.

* Gonzaga also rebounds well, particularly on the defensive end. They have in fact pulled down 77% of that which is available after the opponent misses. That is an important component to any defensive effort.

* This contributes to the Bulldogs being ranked 8th in the nation in Adjusted Defensive Efficiency, according to KenPom.

* Gonzaga has won 29 of its 31 games by double-digit margins. Of course, their 93-90 win over UCLA is the only game they have played that went into overtime.

* Drew Timme, Corey Kispert and Jalen Suggs have each been named to All-America teams. Timme has averaged 19.2 points per game, and 7.1 rebounds. He has scored a total of 100 points over the last four games, shooting 67%. Suggs has done a good job in filling out the stat sheet, scoring 14.1 points with 5.5 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game. Kispert has tallied 18.8 points per contest, shooting 44.5% from three-point range.

* In Saturday's overtime game, Gonzaga only went with seven players, and only 20 minutes were taken up by the bench. Four starters played 40 minutes or more. And Drew Timme played 37 minutes. There is now just a 49-hour turnaround for the most important game of their lives.
