2025 SEC Preview, Predictions and Odds
The SEC football 2025 media days concluded in Atlanta at the College Football Hall of Fame, and the media members covering the Southeastern Conference have predicted Texas, Georgia and LSU as the top teams with 11 SEC teams receiving votes to win the conference. It's 'talking season' and excitement and predictions rampant, but the college football games are decided on the field and the leading online sportsbooks have posted odds on winning the power conference, along with season win totals and biggest early season games for many Southeastern Conference teams.
Last season, the SEC had four teams ranked in the top-6 of the AP Top 25 poll to start the season, and 9 teams in the top 20. This season's preseason Top 25 AP Poll will be released mid-August, but Phil Steele's most popular NCAA football preview magazine has four SEC teams in the top-10 with Texas (4), Georgia (6), Alabama (7) and Oklahoma (9) plus LSU (11) among the best and 7 SEC teams in the top-25. Four SEC teams are likely to make the 12-team playoff in it's second year after four made it last year but none to the championship game with Ohio State beating Notre Dame.
In the South, college football isn’t just a game — it’s a way of life. Ahead of the college football season kickoff Aug. 23 and Week 1 Aug. 28-Sept. 1, Episode 1 of the upcoming SEC football series, “SEC Football: Any Given Saturday” on Netflix provides an unfiltered behind-the-scenes look at the programs during the 2024 season with LSU coach Brian Kelly and South Carolina coach Shane Beamer on the opening episode.
Understand too that betting at regulated U.S. sportsbooks is not offered in Texas and Florida, two of the most populous states in the U.S. and site of the 2026 National Championship Game on Monday, Jan. 19, at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium. Also, South Carolina and Georgia don't offer regulated U.S. sports betting, nor does the largest state in the U.S., California.
So millions of sports fans and bettors in the South watch and wager at top online sportsbooks outside the U.S. That number may continue to grow, as POS President Trump's Big Beautiful Bill is screwing gamblers, sports bettors and poker players with potentially more taxes to pay.
Check out the SEC football preview along with Big Ten football and ACC football coverage along with Big 12 and Mountain West and previews I provide here at Off Shore Gaming Association with information you can bet on.

Notes: Bye Weeks 5 and 10. Sophomore Arch Manning takes over full time at quarterback as the co-top rated QB in the SEC and the Heisman Trophy favorite (+600). He'll operate behind four new offensive line starters, but Texas features other top position units ranked No. 1 in running back, linebacker, special teams and No. 2 defensive line. Manning makes his third career start at Ohio State in Week 1 on Aug. 30 against the defending national champions.
Georgia
Head coach: Kirby Smart (10th year)

Last 2 years: 11-3, 13-1
National Title: +500
SEC Title: +300
SEC Unit rankings: QB (7), RB (4), REC (4), OL (5), DL (5), LB (3), DB (3), ST (1), Coach (1)
Notes: Bye Weeks 4 and 9. Bulldogs ranked 15th in SEC rushing offense last season and haven't had a 1,000 yard rusher since 2019. Georgia receivers also dropped a nation-high 36 passes last season but key WR addition Zachariah Branch comes over from the USC Trojans. The transfer portal and NIL has massively changed the game and strategy including handicapping and more variables to consider when betting.
Alabama
Head coach: Kalen Beboer (2nd year)
Season Wins: O/U 9.5 (under -112) - Bet Under, read more
Last 2 years: 9-4, 12-2
National Title: +1000
SEC Title: +400
SEC Unit rankings: QB (10), RB (4), REC (1), OL (2), DL (2), LB (3), DB (1), ST (3), Coach (4)
Notes: Bye Weeks 4 and 10. The Crimson Tide have a new QB in junior Ty Simpson and a new offensive coordinator, Ryan Grubb. The Tide and Bulldogs both have a bye before Alabama's SEC opener Sept. 27 at Georgia.
LSU
Head coach: Brian Kelly (4th year)
Season Wins: O/U 8.5 (over -138)
Last 2 years: 9-4, 10-3
National Title: +1600
SEC Title: +700
SEC Unit rankings: QB (1), RB (6), REC (1), OL (12), DL (7), LB (3), DB (7), ST (11), Coach (3)
Notes: Bye Weeks 6 and 10. The Tigers hit the transfer portal hard looking to improve a defense that ranked No. 15 in the SEC in points allowed (24.3) last season. Louisiana State QB Garrett Nussmeier is the top-rated senior quarterback and passed for more than 4,000 yards last season with 29 TD passes.
South Carolina
Head coach: Shane Beamer (5th year)
Season Wins: O/U 7.5 (under -135)
Last 2 years: 9-4, 5-7
National Title: +5000
SEC Title: +2000
SEC Unit rankings: QB (1), RB (12), REC (12), OL (14), DL (11), LB (14), DB (10), ST (11), Coach (6)
Notes: Bye Weeks 6 and 11. Sophomore QB LaNorris Sellers is a preseason 3rd team All-SEC pick of Phil Steele after he passed for 2500+ yards and 18 TD's last season. Bottom-tier rankings along the offensive line, running backs, wide receivers and linebackers for the Gamecocks, who have the nation's fourth toughest schedule.
Florida
Head coach: Billy Napier (4th year)
Season Wins: O/U 7.5 (under -125)
Last 2 years: 8-5, 5-73
National Title: +4000
SEC Title: +1800
SEC Unit rankings: QB (4), RB (6), REC (7), OL (2), DL (2), LB (9), DB (5), ST (13), Coach (6)
Notes: Bye weeks 5 and 9. Sophomore quarterback DJ Lagway operates behind a top-rated offensive line with four returning starters. The Gators first three SEC games will see them as underdog at LSU, Texas at home off a bye and at Texas A&M.
Ole Miss
Head coach: Lane Kiffin (6th year)
Season Wins: O/U 8.5 (over -113)
Last 2 years: 10-3, 11-2
National Title: +4000
SEC Title: +1400
SEC Unit rankings: QB (10), RB (14), REC (4), OL (12), DL (7), LB (7), DB (13), ST (13), Coach (4)
Notes: Bye Weeks 6 and 13. New quarterback for the Rebels is sophomore lefty Austin Simmons. A drop back projected for Ole Miss off a pair of strong double-digit win seasons and lacking strength along the offensive and defensive line, a far-less experienced defense and coach Kiffin counting on many tranfer portal players.
Texas A&M
Head coach: Mike Elko (2nd year)
Season Wins: O/U 7.5 (over -150)
Last 2 years: 8-5, 7-6
National Title: +3500
SEC Title: +1600
SEC Unit rankings: QB (7), RB (1), REC (9), OL (1), DL (7), LB (3), DB (1), ST (3), Coach (9)

Season Wins: O/U 8.5 (under -155)
Last 2 years: 10-3, 9-4
National Title: +5000
SEC Title: +2000
SEC Unit rankings: QB (10), RB (9), REC (14), OL (8), DL (5), LB (9), DB (7), ST (3), Coach (6)
Notes: Bye weeks 6 and 13. The Vols lose top-QB Nico Iamaleava to UCLA, and senior Joey Aguilar from Appalachian State is the projected starter with less talented RB's and WR's this season.
Oklahoma
Head coach: Brent Venables (4th year)
Season Wins: O/U 6.5 (over -185)
Last year: 6-7 (first in SEC)
National Title: +5000
SEC Title: +2000
SEC Unit rankings: QB (4), RB (1), REC (7), OL (5), DL (1), LB (1), DB (9), ST (7), Coach (9)
Notes: Bye weeks 5 and 11. The Sooners get top transfer QB John Mateer from Washington State, and he passed for 3,100+ yards and 29 TD's last season under OC Ben Arbuckle, who also comes to Norman as offensive coordinator. Lots of buzz for the improved Sooners with QB Mateer while QB Jackson Arnold leaves Oklahoma to Auburn through the transfer por$al.
Auburn
Head coach: Hugh Freeze (3rd year)
Season Wins: O/U 7.5 (over -150)
Last 2 years: 5-7, 6-7
National Title: +5000
SEC Title: +2000
SEC Unit rankings: QB (10), RB (12), REC (1), OL (2), DL (7), LB (12), DB (5), ST (8), Coach (9)
Notes: Bye Weeks 6 and 12. New junior QB Jackson Arnold transferred in from Oklahoma. The Tigers have now had four straight losing season with their last bowl game loss as favorite in 2023 leaving them 6-7.
Missouri
Head coach: Eliah Drinkwitz (6th year)
Season Wins: O/U 7.5 (under -185)
Last 2 years: 10-3, 11-2
National Title: +15000
SEC Title: +4000
SEC Unit rankings: QB (14), RB (9), REC (9), OL (8), DL (11), LB (12), DB (10), ST (13), Coach (9)
Notes: Bye weeks 6 and 10. Little respect for Mizzu, who has won 21 games the past two season's but has bottom-half position unit rankings across the board and a new first-year starting QB in former top-25 QB recruit, junior Beau Pribula.
Vanderbilt
Head coach: Clark Lea (5th year)
Season Wins: O/U 4.5 (over -184)
Last 2 years: 7-6, 2-10
National Title: +50000
SEC Title: +30000
SEC Unit rankings: QB (4), RB (14), REC (14), OL (15), DL (13), LB (9), DB (15), ST (3), Coach (9)
Notes: Bye weeks 7 and 12. Commodores QB Diego Pavia is one of just six senior quarterbacks in the SEC, and he led the 'Dores to last year's shocking 40-35 win over Alabama as a 23-point home underdog with his highest passing total vs. an SEC opponent (252 yards).
Arkansas
Head coach: Sam Pittman (6th year)
Season Wins: O/U 5.5 (under -150)
Last 2 years: 7-6, 4-8
National Title: +40000
SEC Title: +12500
SEC Unit rankings: QB (7), RB (9), REC (12), OL (5), DL (13), LB (7), DB (13), ST (8), Coach (9)
Notes: Bye weeks 6 and 11. The Hogs have a returning senior QB inTaylen Green, but have their work cut out with the nation's #3 toughest schedule that includes the rugged SEC plus a home game vs. Notre Dame Sept. 27.
Kentucky
Head coach: Mark Stoops (13th year)
Season Wins: O/U 4.5 (over -125)
Last 2 years: 4-8, 7-6
National Title: +30000
SEC Title: +30000
SEC Unit rankings: QB (14), RB (14), REC (14), OL (12), DL (15), LB (14), DB (10), ST (8), Coach (7)
Notes: Bye Weeks 4 and 7. The Wildcats suffered through a tough season last year with higher expectations and lost five times as a favorite. Now they have bottom-tier position rankings across the board in the SEC with senior QB Zach Calzada transferring in as the Southland Conference Player of the Year for Incarnate Wood last season after sitting as a backup previously in the SEC.
Mississippi State
Head coach: Jeff Lebby (2nd year)
Season Wins: O/U 3.5 (over -165)
Last 2 years: 2-10, 5-7
National Title: +75000
SEC Title: +50000
SEC Unit rankings: QB (14), RB (6), REC (9), OL (15), DL (15), LB (14), DB (15), ST (13), Coach (16)
Notes: Bye Weeks 7 and 13. The nation's #2 most difficult schedule and second-year coach Lebby in for another long, losing season after going winless in SEC play last season. Top online sportsbooks should set odds on when the Bulldogs will get an SEC win, but the only bottom-tier SEC team on their schedule is Arkansas on the road.
