The preseason betting line was Buckeye's -3.5, and that's exactly where it sits into Week 10 action with Ohio State the road favorite at leading online sportsbooks and some moving to Ohio State -3 with reports that Penn State QB Drew Allar will play after suffering a leg injury in last week's win over Wisconsin. The Buckeye's have some offensive line injury concerns, which tilt's the edge to the defensive dominator and running 'Dog.

Ohio State at Penn State

Ohio State's narrow 21-17 home win over Nebraska last week saw the Buckeye's rush for just 64 yards on 31 carries. That dropped them from the dozen teams that had 200 Club offenses with Ohio State now rushing for 188 per game but passing for 284 yards per game (all stats vs. FBS opponents). Penn State rushes for 198 and passes for 266 ypg. Both teams are defensive dominators allowing 12/14 points per game, 255/267 yards per game, 4.3 yards per play and 92/93 rushing yards per game. What gives with a game total of 47.5 points for this heavyweight bout?

Penn State (7-0) remains undefeated and one of 8 teams in the country, including 3 in the Big Ten that are unbeaten joining Oregon and Indiana, but not Ohio State (6-1), who lost at Oregon 32-31 in October. The Buckeye's were the same -3.5 point road favorite at Oregon, but know this opponent better while also having beaten Penn State in 12 of the last 13 meetings and 9-1 SU with James Franklin as head coach of the Nittany Lions. Ohio State (-1200) and Penn State (-750) are still big favorites to make the 12-team CFP with yes/no betting options. An Opinion on Penn State +3.5 and Lean +3 and Under 47.5

Pittsburgh at SMU

Quarterback questions for both Pitt (8-0) and SMU (7-1) in this ACC battle. But QB Holstein was cleared to play vs. SMU this week while SMU QB Jennings has been upgraded to “likely”. Neither team was an ACC or national title contender at the start of the season. In fact, SMU (250/1) and Pitt (1,000/1) were huge lonshots for the national title and now the winner Saturday will be in solid position to make the 12-team College Football Playoff and still win the ACC. The Mustangs are more balanced on offense and we Lean SMU (check back Sat for more as available or upgrade, night game).

Other stats, ATS and betting notes of key matchups.

Texas A&M (7-1) at South Carolina (4-3) - A&M (5-0) leads the SEC off the big (misleading) win over LSU - the third game in last four the Aggies have been outgained. The 'Cocks look Game and rested and ready off a bye week to rise to the occasion with tough, narrow losses to Alabama and LSU on the road and now getting rewarded at home with a strong effort and stronger edge rushers. Project SC to outgain Texas A&M with some strong ATS profiles off their bye while also playing a top-3 strength of schedule. Opinion South Carolina.

Louisville (5-3) at Clemson (6-1) - Tigers have won 6-straight games since getting buried by Georgia in their opener, and these two teams have scored nearly idential points (194, 193). But Clemson has scored at least 40 points in five of their last six and Louisville is on a 0-5 ATS run while 2-wins by 4-points each.

Ole Miss (6-2) at Arkansas (5-3). The home team has won 5-straight in the series. Ole Miss stats are skewed with far less success in SEC play. But the Rebels overall still rank No. 1 in yards per play margin and No. 2 in yards per game and scoring margins this season. Arkansas has outgained their opponents by 133 ypg (No. 13).

Texas Tech (5-3) at Iowa State (7-0) - Opinion on the Red Raiders, who will have QB Behren Morton starting after he suffered a shoulder injury in last week's 35-34 loss at TCU in a game TT lead 34-21 in the 4th quarter. The line has dipped from +14 to +14 to +13.5 for Texas Tech as 'Dog with Iowa State off a bye and allowed a season-high 35 points to UCF last game and now trying to slow the Red Raiders offense averaging 36 points and 445 yards per game - nearly equal to Iowa State (451).
