Free Picks for Week 2 of the NFL Preseason

Week 2 Preseason

The tough part of preseason is knowing when to bet and how much to wager. in reality, any team can win these games. We found three games for tomorrow that are very intriguing.

Denver at Buffalo
Saturday 8.19 at 1PM ET

Bills Broncos preseason week 2 free pickDenver Broncos +6.5
Buffalo Bills       -6.5
Total: 42 points

Russell Wilson is not scheduled to play tomorrow. Some of the regulars on the Broncos will play a bit, but not any substantial time. Josh Allen is starting the game and will see action. The line at industry giant BetOnline is -6.5 on the Bills winning at home, and -240 on the money line. Denver lost their the last four in 2021 and finished the season, 7-10. We like Buffalo to win at home. These games tend to get messy in the 4th quarter, so we are going with the money line.

NFL Free Pick: Buffalo Bills ML

Washington at Kansas City
Saturday 8.19 at 4PM ET

Kansas City free pickWashington Commanders +4.5
Kansas City Chiefs            -4.5
Total: 44 points

The Chiefs are home with a new look offense. Tyreek Hill is now in on Miami and Washington lost four of their last 5 to finish 2021. KC will try to run the ball more and utilize the running backs more into the passing game. We saw a little of this last week, with Patrick Mahomes, passing the ball to his running backs and receivers. He will be playing half a game with the starting unit and expect him to open fast. The Line is -4.5 to win and -208 on the money line. Washington was losing badly to Carolina for three quarters last week, before covering towards the end of the game.

NFL Free Pick: Kansas City Chiefs -4.5

Pittsburgh at Jacksonville
Saturday 8.19 at 7PM ET

Pittsburgh Steelers      +4
Jacksonville Jaguars     -4
Steelers Jags free pickTotal: 42.5 points

Our 3rd game is the Steelers vs the Jaguars in Jacksonville. We like this road dog plus the 3 1/2 points for a few reasons. Over the years head coaches develop a pattern of how they coach under different conditions. The last three times the Steelers made the playoffs, Mike Tomlin benched the starters to give them an extra week off to rest. The same situation is developing here. The Steelers are the better team. They have 3 QBs fighting for the starting job and Tomlin has to make a decision after tomorrow's game. It will be Mitch Trubisky or Kenny Pickett starting the regular season. Next week's game at home vs the Lions will serve as a tune up for the starters playing a limited amount of time, to get ready for a tough opener in Cincinnati.

NFL Free Pick: Pittsburgh Steelers +4
