What will some of the star players do in Monday night's NCAA title game with Texas Tech and Virginia? We will examine a few of them.

National Championship Prop Betting Tips

If you have a pretty good handle on how you think Monday night's NCAA Championship game is going to play out, you may be able to plug that into some basic philosophy on the various player props that are available at BetAnySports, where you can get a plethora of props, along with reduced juice on the side and total, not to mention the opportunity to place wagers after the game has tipped off, through Live Betting Ultra.

Game time is 9:20 PM ET at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, with CBS televising.

One of things I think you're going to see here is that shooting is going to be difficult for most of these players, especially those who intend to operate in the paint. DeAndre Hunter of Virginia might be one of those people, and his over/under as far as points are concerned is 13.5. I wasn't sure I wanted to go down this road to the "under," because I know that if he has to, he can step out and shoot the three. Or CAN he?

It's strange - he has been a 42% shooter from three-point range on the season, but he's come up relatively cold lately, making just one of eight in his last three games and 5 of 23 going back to the ACC tournament loss to Florida State. What I'm thinking is that on their limited number of possessions (and Virginia has averaged fewer than anyone else), the preferable options here are people like Kyle Guy and Ty Jerome, and the Texas Tech defense is programmed to prevent a guy like Hunter from driving into the paint. I'm not sure, when all is said and done, that he is going to get a boatload of real good chances, so I would actually lay the price here on the "under" at -125.

Prop betting Virginia Texas TechSome of the same principles might apply to Jarrett Culver, who has been bricking a little over the last couple of games, hitting eight of his 31 shots. But that is not the major influence on my thinking; once again, you have to look at what these coaches look to do on defense. They are not funneling people in toward the middle to get their shot challenged; they don't want you in there at all.

So Virginia will most likely be targeting Culver, the Most productive player on the Texas Tech, as somebody they don't want beating them, even if it means Matt Mooney or Davide Moretti get some open looks outside. We discuss Hunter; he can help his team in other ways, as he is the ACC defensive player of the year. Culver can hit the boards, or be the playmaker on occasion, and he'll do these things even if he is not shooting all that well. In other words, he's not Russell Westbrook, who is going to continue forcing up shots on a bad night, even if they are not good shots. They don't need a big scoring night from him to win, so I would gravitate "under" (at -130) on his point total of 18.

Another thing you want to be on the lookout for is the halftime line, which you will get at BetAnySports. Texas Tech, under Chris Beard, has covered eight straight times in the NCAA Tournament against the second half spread. And you may want to look specifically for a number on the first ten minutes of the second half.

That's because the Red Raiders have come out of the locker room like they are conducting an air raid (a little football pun there). They have scored 113 points during these periods in the five NCAA games, giving up 62. So they are outscoring the opponent by ten points a game in ten minutes after Beard has done his halftime adjustments. This third "quarter" has been the highest scoring for Texas Tech in four of the five games. This is no accident; they have been doing stuff like this all season long.

And we doubt Beard is going to have to deal with a lot of surprises coming out of that locker room. I mean, I doubt that Virginia is going to come out in a 1-3-1 zone, or start with full court traps, or start playing fast break basketball. They are what they are, and Beard can make his adjustments knowing that. In games where his team has been behind at the half, he's covered two-thirds of the time in the second 20 minutes.

We obviously don't know what that second half number is going to be. But when the first half is over, check the line and be ready to pounce - at BetAnySports, where they have lots of pre-game player props to challenge you, along with reduced juice, real-time wagering with Live Betting Ultra, and plenty of deposit options, including your Visa card, person-to-person transfers (like Western Union) or the virtual currency of Bitcoin, which is fast and easy with their automated system, and NEVER incurs a transaction fee!
