The Miami Dolphins go after their fifth straight win as they play host to the New York Giants, who have to turn to Mike Glennon at quarterback.

Maybe the Miami Dolphins won'tget to the postseason. Maybe they will fall just short as they did last year. But BetOnline patrons should be cautioned that they aren't going down without a fight.

After a 1-7 start, there were calls for the heads of head coach Brian Flores and general manager Chris Grier. There were questions about the wisdom of drafting Tua Tagovailoa, not to mention trade rumors involving DeShaun Watson.

It was a mess.

But now that is starting to change. They have won four in a row to get themselves to 5-7 (6-5 ATS). The turning point was a victory over the Baltimore Ravens, the top seed in the AFC,as they held Lamar Jackson & Co. to just ten points. And they have followed the formula to the point where they are stillalive in the race for an AFC wild card berth - along with a number of other teams, of course.

The New York Giants, at 4-7 (6-5 against the points), are not out of race either. And of course, this owes to the fact that there are three wild cards in each conference. But they look to be trending downwrad, despite three wins in their last five games.

After a lifeless performance by the offense in a Monday night loss to Tampa Bay, offensive coordinator Jason Garrett was fired, and Freddy Kitchens, the former head coach in Cleveland, is now calling the plays. Has it made any difference? Well, the Giants scored 13 points and had 264 yards last week, even in victory against Philadelphia, and only escaped with a win because the Eagles can't hold on to thrown passes.

And there is injury trouble that they have to deal with.

In the NFL betting odds posted on this game at Hard Rock Stadium by the people at BetOnline, the Dolphins are laying points:

Miami Dolphins -6.5
New York Giants +6.5

Over 40 points -110
Under 40 points -110

Daniel Jones has a neck injury and has been disqualified from any and all contact. Not only that, it is possible that he will miss multiple weeks. So the Giants will have to turn to Mike Glennon for on-field guidance. Glennon, an NC State product, had a nice rookie season with Tampa Bay, throwing for 2608 yards and 19 TD's, but was pushed aside in favor of Jameis Winston. Since then, he's bounced around to five teams. In his only game action this season, he completed 16 of 25 for 196 yards and two INT's against Dallas.

Unlike Jones, Glennon is not a picture of mobility. He has 51 rushes for 109 yards in his career. So that dimension is taken away. And that's kind of a shame, even though Devontae Booker came back to action last week to join Saquon Barkley in the backfield.

The Giants are also going to be challenged with injuries to Sterlign Shepard and Kadarius Toney that are likely taking them out of action. So Kitchens isn't really able to implement the changes he wants to.

The Dolphins are first in the NFLin pressure rate and throw more blitzes at opponents than any other team. We're not sure Glennon can handle it, so we are laying the points and parlaying that with an "under."
