Preview and Top 25 Picks for College Football Week 12
The 2022 Week 12 picks and college football Top 25 report includes 2 Top 25 match-ups on Saturday, Nov. 19. Both are big games in the Pac-12 with conference championship game implications. I provide a preview with just Leans and Opinions on those two games plus bonus Picks on this week's Top 25 betting report.
The Week 11 Picks went 2-1 and the side selections included Washington's (+13) outright win at Oregon to knock the Ducks out of the CFB Playoff chase and out of the CFB Playoff top 10 rankings. Picks are now 7-3 ATS since early October (Weeks 7-11), which followed a poor week of Picks on Oct. 1 as we started releasing Picks beyond Opinions and Leans.
There is so much at stake in the closing weeks of the regular season and next week's Thanksgiving week is also the biggest rivalry weekend of the year. But first, it's the huge crosstown rivalry between No. 7 USC and No. 16 UCLA this week with much to be decided ahead of the Pac 12 championship. The No. 10 Utah at No. 12 Oregon winner likely decides who gets into the championship game as well with many Pac-12 tie-breaker scenarios to consider ahead of this week's games.
Additional big rivalry games and impactful conference games this weekend include:
- Oklahoma State at Oklahoma (-7.5)
- Iowa at Minnesota (-2.5)
- TCU (-2.5) at Baylor
- Boise State (-14) at Wyoming
College Football Playoff Rankings
Here are the top 10 teams in the current College Football Playoff Rankings
1. Georgia | 6. LSU |
2. Ohio State | 7. USC |
3. Michigan | 8. Alabama |
4. TCU | 9. Clemson |
5. Tennessee | 10. Utah |
Be sure to check out the top defensive teams and defensive dominators in college football. Review the list and update the stats as you evaluate the match-ups each week and use these stats as guidelines when handicapping. Same with top offensive teams with more balanced and efficient offenses as more teams emerge and others fall off.
That includes the offensive strength and huge yardage output of Oregon (236 rush/282 pass), Utah (206/241) UCLA (242/264) and USC just a bit short in rushing (183/317) but still powerful and the top passing attack of the four teams with updated stats vs FBS opponents. Three teams are averaging 39-42 points per game to rank top 10 in the country with Utah 36 PPG vs FBS foes. Oregon (7.2), USC (7.0) and UCLA (7.0) are all top-5 in the country in yards per play offense against FBS opponents. Utah's offense averages 6.2 yards per play to rank top-25 in the country.

Bonus Picks
Review the Top 25 CFB Playoff rankings below, and we'll add bonus Picks on Illinois (+18) and Maryland (+27.5) in their games against Michigan and Ohio State. I already have an advance bet on Michigan (+10.5) at Ohio State next week for the Big Game and all the marbles with a Big Ten Championship game entry and CFB Playoff berth still on the line for those two undefeated teams.
Others games and potential picks following additional review. Lines and injuries continue to change and impact betting and also live betting. Recall we added a bonus Pick winner from Top 25 games on Arkansas in Week 9. We'll have more Picks next week for the biggest rivalry weekend of the year over Thanksgiving weekend.
