There are plenty of amazing things quarterback Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs can do. We'll talk about some of those.

Patrick Mahomes is the key to a Chiefs Super Bowl win

Until last night, when Lamar Jackson won the award by a unanimous decision, Patrick Mahomes was the NFL's reigning Most Valuable Player. This year he's encountered obstacles, including ankle problems and a dislocated kneecap. But he's still amazing.

And he is the principal reason his Kansas City Chiefs are favored over the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl, which takes place on Sunday at 6:30 PM ET at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL.

Of course, if you are a BetAnySports customer, you are going to be able to get reduced juice, which offers better odds, along with Sports Betting Ultra, which enables real-time wagering during the game itself. And you'll also have a massive menu of props that can definitely keep you busy.

Kansas City ChiefsLet's take a look at the line on this game:

Kansas City Chiefs     -1.5
San Francisco Chiefs +1.5

Over 54 points -110
Under 54 points -110

Consider these things about Mahomes as you're making your handicapping choices:

1) Since the beginning of the 2018 season, he has more TD passes than anybody else, as well as a higher yards per attempt than anyone. He is also #2 in passer rating during that time. Mahomes reached 7500 passing yards faster than any other quarterback in history (24 games).

2) He has the league's second-best quarterback rating under pressure.

3) He can kill teams who blitz him. Since the beginning of the 2018 season, he has 23 touchdown passes, ONE interception and a passer rating of 116.5 when the opponents bring five or more pass rushers.

4) He is actually better working without play-action. In those situations, he has thrown for 8.6 yards an attempt, which is the league's best.

5) When it comes to passes that travel 15 or more yards beyond the line of scrimmage, Mahomes has a QB rating of 125.9, which is the best in the NFL.

6) During the playoffs, Mahomes has 112 of his team's 236 rushing yards. And if you saw his magical 27-yard run in the AFC title game against Tennessee, no more needs to be said on the subject.

7) Mahomes has been sacked only 16 times in 16 games. So he is obviously very good at evading the opposing pass rush.

8) Mahomes chalks up a lot of "air yards." That is to say, he averages 8.8 yards beyond the line of scrimmage on a per-play basis. And even in doing this, he has thrown only five interceptions.

9) He holds the NFL record with three or more touchdown passes in seven consecutive road games.

10) Last season, when completely healthy, Mahomes threw for 5097 yards and 50 touchdowns, at the age of 23. He is one of only two quarterbacks with over 5000 yards and at least 50 touchdowns, the other being Peyton Manning in 2013 (5477 and 55).

Mahomes also has some tremendous speed at his disposal. Tyreek Hill runs a 4.29 in the 40-yard dash, Mecole Hardman is at 4.33 and Sammy Watkins 4.43. If he can buy time, he can do some damage. But Chiefs' backers have to be wary about something - the 49ers do not customarily blitz. In fact, they have done that at the fourth-lowest rate in the NFL, yet they get pressure at a rate that is second in the NFL.

Another thing is that the San Francisco defense has allowed only ten plays of 40 or more yards downfield. Consider that there is a prop on Sunday's game on whether Mahomes will have a passing play of 45 yards or more. It's priced at -110 either way, and we would be inclined to go with the "No" on that one.
