The Betting Scene: Odds and Prize Boosts at Online Sports Books

A look at a new offering from one online sportsbook and increases in some prize pools for upcoming NFL contests.

Online sportsbooks up their game as NFL football approaches

With the return if pro sports and the sound of NFL players hitting in pads at training camp, sportsbooks are gearing up for the most bet sport in the country, NFL football. And many are coming up with great unique ways to get player involved and give them something fun to bet on during these pandemic infused times.

Odds Boost

Giving players specific bets at longer odds for a limited time is something that European sportsbooks started a few years back and can be called odds boost, boosted odds or super odds. The offering is currently available at several of the licensed and regulated sportsbooks in the U.S. (many of whom have EU  ties) and now online betting giant BetOnline is offering it for customers every day.

odds boost at BetOnlineBetOnline is bringing these attractive gambling bargains to their bettors in the form of OddsBoost. It works like this: Certain teams are offered in a parlay with a larger payout using the odds booster, then if the bets were parlayed at house odds. And these bets can be fun and entertaining.

Several of the New Jersey and Pennsylvania sportsbooks are offering a "Philly Special" with odds on the three Philadelphia sports teams that are playing today - Phillies, 76ers and Flyers. BetOnline is offering one for the NBA, with the Nuggets -3.5 to Win and Over 218.5 Points, after beating the Jazz in overtime on Monday. Playing this at regular odds would give the $100 bettor a win of $265, but with odds booster it pays out at a whopping +320!

Management at BetOnline told us, "The OddsBooster has become extremely popular since sports started back, with parlay betting leading the way. It's a reminder of the old sportsbook Parlay Cards of Vegas."

If the EU books are doing it and adding odds booster bets, and the U.S. books are doing it, it will be sure that many of the top online sportsbooks will be adding it in the future. But for now, the only book that we have found to offer Odds Boost is Betonline.ag. Check out what they are boosting today here.

Contests are getting HUGE

As more U.S. states license sports betting companies, the online books that  players have used for years are stepping up their game with giant contest offerings for football. MyBookie is leading the pack by increasing the prize pool for their annual Super Contest, based on the popular Westgate Super Contest. Last year, they offered a $100,000 prize pool, but this season they have increased it to a whopping 300K! First place wins $100,000 and the top score every four weeks wins $12,500. For this huge prize pool, the entry fee has also increased to $100. Contestants can enter the $250,000 MegaContest up to 5 times. The first three entries are for full price but the 4th and 5th entries are available at a discounted rate of just $50. MyBookie does have something to fit every players' budget and for players who want to get involved for as little as $10, there is a $100,000 Survivor Pool and a smaller Super Contest. Head to MyBookie.ag to get involved.
