Betting tips for the huge Champions League match between Manchester City and Tottenham, with bonus prop picks.

UEFA Champions League

The final day of quarter-finals action takes place on Wednesday night, and with two more teams ready to punch their tickets into the last four brackets, we should once again expect high-level performances from all sides involved.

Ajax and Barcelona got one step closer to the finals in June after the Blaugrana dispatched of an overmatched Manchester United squad, and the young Dutch side upset Italian giants Juventus on their home patch.

Liverpool, Porto, Manchester City, and Tottenham are now next on deck, with the opportunity to join their fellow European powers in what should be another classic semi-final.

The rematch of this all English affair has a plethora of story-lines as the opening whistle arrives. The EPL has guaranteed that at least one famous clubs will represent the league, in hopes they will finally capture their first major title since 2012.

Manchester City returns home off a disappointing 1-0 loss on matchday one. The Citizens were held scoreless for the first time during this season's European run, with Spurs shutting down Man City's potent attack.

Pep Guardiola will have added motivation to get his high powered side back on track, after an impressive 1-3 victory against Crystal Palace over the weekend, the Spaniard now turns his attention to overturning Tottenham's slim one-goal advantage.

Guardiola's Tactical Decision

The Man City maestro will have several critical decisions to make regarding his starting eleven. Guardiola is rumored to make changes to his squad that flamed out in London last week, with Kevin Be Bruyne and Bernardo Silva expected to get the start in the return leg, this combination of players should provide the squad with more attacking flair.

The clubs all-time leading goal scorer Sergio Aguero will also be anxious for this upcoming event, after missing a significant first-half penalty that resulted in his team taking a first leg loss back to the Etihad. The Argentine striker has scored ten goals in all competitions against the north London side, but he has failed to hit the back of the net against Spurs since 2015, giving him plenty of motivation to reverse that unflattering trend.

Raheem Sterling will be content to have a better performance than what he displayed at the new White Hart Lane. The young English-man missed his chances to put his team on the scoreboard, placing added pressure on his shoulders to perform in arguably the biggest match of the season, his electric pace down the wings should make life difficult on the Spurs backend, as Sterling attempts to solidify himself as a big match player.

Team Prop
Manchester City - Team Total Over 2.5  +110 / 2.1 - Goals

Manchester City has enjoyed the friendly confines of their home stadium, averaging four goals per match, the Citizens have thrived while in front of their passionate support system. The hosts have also enjoyed welcoming their London rivals to the Etihad over the years, scoring at least two goals in seven of the last eight visits to Manchester, giving them even more confidence they will register double digits on the day.

Tottenham takes to the road where they have suffered over the past few months. Spurs enter Wednesday's contest having lost six of their last seven away matches in all competitions, placing plenty of doubt in the Londoners heads as they square off with the bookmaker's favorites to win the entire tournament.

Mauricio Pochettino understands the challenge he has ahead of him, holding off an inspired Manchester City side will be a monumental challenge.

Spurs Huge Injury Blows

Pochettino was dealt a huge blow when his star striker Harry Kane limped off the pitch in last weeks contest. Spurs primary tally's man leaves a significant void atop the visitors front-line, placing added pressure on the teams supporting cast to try and fill the Golden Boot winners looming presence.

The leg one winners are also sweating the status of fellow England international Dele Alli, who broke his hand in the same match, potentially taken away two of Spurs more dangerous figures in front of goal.

Son Heung-Min, Fernando Llorente, and Lucas Moura will be the next in line to help carry Tottenham past the finish line. Pochettino's men are likely to see less of the possession while at the Etihad, wanting to absorb pressure and then strike with their patented counter-attacking system, Heung-Min, and Moura would seem the most likely of candidates to get the final call with their exceptional pace in the open field.

Christian Eriksen will be available for duty. The Danish midfielders hold-up abilities, and precise passing skills to release his danger-men into motion are crucial to his team's overall success. Eriksen is also a setpiece specialist, and his deadly accuracy makes him a real weapon with the ball at his feet, always giving Spurs a chance to score regardless of the situation.

Tottenham must lean on their recent accomplishments for additional motivation, having won five of their last six Champions Leagues matches, while keeping a clean sheet during their previous three European outings.

Manchester City vs. Tottenham - Match Prediction

Man City left London with a less than desirable result,  but only conceding one goal during their travels in a two-legged format is still a favorable situation for the defending Premier League champions.

Guardiola's men should come out inspired to even the scoreline as soon as possible, wanting to place Spurs under constant pressure with their well-choreographed attack, we should see the Citizen's on Tottenham's side of the pitch for vast stretches of Wednesday nights match.

Match Prop
Manchester City - To Advance   -150 / 1.67

Tottenham will attempt to protect their one-goal lead as long as possible, wanting to lure Man City in, and then spring out on the counter-attack where they can punish their high profile hosts.

Spurs recent road woes are a worrying concern and with the Londoner's traveling to their house of horrors without Harry Kane only makes matters worse.

I still anticipate Tottenham putting up a good fight, but Manchester City at home with a sufficiently motivated squad is an enormous obstacle to overcome.

I expect the Citizens to come out and impose their dominance, pinning Spurs back with no room to breathe, creating a large number of shots on goal with the breakthrough coming before the halftime whistle. I project a multiple-goal effort, with Man City eventually qualifying for the semi-finals as they continue their quest for a Champions League trophy.
