Preview and picks for Week 4 of the NFL season
Top handicapper Ross Benjamin is joined by Chip Chirimbes from the "A Play" to offer winning betting angles for this weekend's NFL football action.
Heading into week 4 of the NFL season there are five teams that are still undefeated. Ross and Chip take a look at two games involving three of them and both are the marquee matchups in their time slots. In the early game the undefeated Carolina Panthers head to Big D to take on the 2-1 Cowboys. And in the late game, Arizona heads to Los Angeles to take on the Rams in what is sure to be the best game of the day, unless you count the much over-hyped trip by Brady, Gronk and the Bucs to New England.
Panthers at Cowboys Free Pick
NFL betting lines at BetOnline: Cowboys - 4.5 / Total 52
The Panthers haven't lost a game so far, are 3-0 Against the Spread (ATS) and sport the No. 1 defense in the NFL. But still there are doubters who point to the quality of their opponents and skepticism surrounding Sam Darnold, who seems to have magically found a rhythm in Carolina. This Panthers defense has allowed just 14 points or less and under 200 yards of total offense to opponents through the first three games. However, Carolina hasn't faced much firepower and certainly not what the Cowboys bring to the table.
There is also a huge betting angle I love, where Carolina is coming off of a Thursday night game, while Dallas just played on Monday night. Dallas has been a turnover machine on defense leading the league with 8 takeaways, but the Panthers have not given the rock away, with just two turnovers in three games.
Check out the video below as I make a case for the Panthers to cover on Sunday at Jerry's House.
Cardinals at Rams Pick
NFL betting lines at BetUS: LA Rams - 4.5 / Total 55
The Rams were impressive on Sunday against the defending Super Bowl-champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers, winning in convincing fashion. But the Cardinals are the #2 offense in the league and quarterback Kyler Murray has been on the ESPN highlight reel after each game. Chip points out that the Rams are Cardinal killers ATS, with LA 7-0-1 ATS vs. the Cardinals over the last four seasons. But, there is the addition of a potential let-down for Los Angeles after the playoff-type atmosphere last week at SoFi stadium.
The side is a tough call here and the over/under is a whopping 55. Still, Chip has found some value in the total and is looking to fire on the over. Check the video forwhy in his complete breakdown of this marquee matchup on Sunday at 4:05 PM Eastern. Watch and Win!
