NFL Preseason Week 1 Pick - Tennessee Titans at Philadelphia Eagles

The Tennessee Titans start their preseason schedule this Thursday night on the road in an inter-conference clash against the Philadelphia Eagles. Game time from Lincoln Financial Field is set for 7:30 p.m. and Elite-rated VietBet has opened the Eagles as 3.5-point favorites with the total set at 37 points.

Current NFL Betting Odds:
Tennessee Titans      37
Philadelphia Eagles -3.5 Philadelphia Eagles betting preview

Tennessee missed out on a playoff spot last season at 9-7 straight-up behind Houston and Indianapolis in the AFC South. The NFL futures odds at VietBet have the Titans listed at +625 betting odds to win the division behind the other three teams including Jacksonville. They went just 2-5 against the spread over their last seven games in 2018 as part of an overall record of 8-8 against the closing number at VietBet. The total went OVER in five of their last six games.

Marcus Mariota is still the starting quarterback in Tennessee, but look for Ryan Tannehill to get his chance to run the offense on Thursday night as his new backup. Head coach Mike Vrabel is likely to turn to his backups from the start in this preseason opener. Running back Derrick Henry was back in action in a team scrimmage over the weekend after an early injury in camp.

Philadelphia Eagles betting previewThe expectation level for Philadelphia is much higher this season just two years removed from a run to the franchise’s first Super Bowl title. The Eagles went 9-7 SU and lost to New Orleans in the second round of the playoffs last season. They are listed a -110 favorites to win the NFC East this season and they have the third-best odds on the board at +675 to win the conference. Philly was 5-1-1 ATS over its last seven games last season.

The overall health of quarterback Carson Wentz is the long-term priority on the offensive side of the ball, but for Thursday night’s contest all eyes will be on Nate Sudfield as Wentz’s immediate backup. Rookie running back Miles Sanders should get some playing time as the team’s second round pick in this year’s draft.

The Eagles lost their first three preseason games last year both SU and ATS, but I am looking for a faster start out of the gate this time around to get the win in Week 1 both SU and ATS.
