Sweet 16 NCAA Tournament Betting Predictions

A look at the Sweet 16 games between Gonzaga and Arkansas and Michigan and Villanova, with a free pick video.

Thursday Sweet 16 game previews and predictions

March Madness rolls on and into the Sweet 16 round starting on Thursday, with the fourth seeded Arkansas Razorbacks taking on the top seed in the West, Gonzaga. This game is one of the more anticipated matchups on the two-day round of the NCAA Tournament.

Gonzaga looks to advance

Arkansas is the only SEC team still alive in the tournament and so far they have not shown much with wins over Vermont and New Mexico State, both ATS loses for the Razorbacks. This team has not impressed and has not shown the fire that is going to be needed to get beyond the Sweet 16.

Gonzaga Arkansas free pickThe Zags are an offensive team that hasn't really put it together yet in the NCAA Tournament and I believe an underrated defensive squad. It seems like a heavy number to lay at -9, but this could be the year for the former #1 team in the nation and I'm going with Gonzaga to cover the point spread. Check out more of my insights in the Winners Circle video below.

Here are the current NCAA betting odds, according to industry leading BookMaker:

Gonzaga Bulldogs       -9.5 (-108)
Arkansas Razorbacks +9.5 (-108)

Over 155 Points -108
Under 155 Points -108

Is Michigan on a magical  tourney roll?

Michigan Nova betting tipsMany players are riding the Michigan Wolverines and their (not) surprising run so far during March Madness. Michigan was a (big) surprise favorite in the opening round over the #5 seeded Colorado State and they crushed the Rams 75-63. Then, they defeated a good Tennessee squad by 8, as a 7 point underdog over the weekend.

Michigan is currently a five point dog at BetOnline, who hosts a great Sweet 16 contest with a prize pool of $100,000.

Michigan Wolverines +5 (-105)
Villanova Wildcats     -5 (-115)

Over 135 Points -118
Under 135 Points -102

Getting by Villanova is a tough task. They were the best rebounding team in the country this year are ranked 11th nationally. Jay Wright's program is one of the most consistent in the country, especially in the NCAA postseason. They are one of the best neutral site favorites in the NCAA tourney in recent years, winning 17 out of 21 games. Villanova Wildcats free pickAnd, the Wildcats are an experienced, proven team that has not lost since early February.

But this Michigan team could be the story of this year's March Madness. Check the video for the free pick on this Sweet 16 matchup from top analyst Chip Chirimbes.
